Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a:

Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) Manager – Biotechnology

for a contract role of 12 months, with possibility of extension afterwards, based in the Valais area, Switzerland.

Main Responsibilities:

As a C&Q Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of commissioning and qualification activities across multiple projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the preparation and coordination of all necessary documentation for C&Q processes.
  • Leading the execution and management of C&Q activities, including documentation preparation and resource management.
  • Managing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Installation Verification (IV), Single Use (SU), Operational Feasibility Testing (OFT), and Performance Qualification (PQ) for equipment and systems.
  • Coordinating with operational teams on engineering runs and ensuring adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Monitoring progress and preparing monthly reports for stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the system handover process, ensuring that all commissioning and qualification activities are completed and documented correctly.
  • Providing technical expertise and support during the commissioning of Clean Utilities and Environmental Monitoring (EM) PQ.
  • Leading and participating as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during Authority Inspections and audits.
  • Managing and tracking the training status of the C&Q team to ensure high performance and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commissioning and qualification within the biotechnology or regulated industries.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams within the commissioning and qualification process.
  • Previous experience working in large-scale projects (preferably >200mCHF) in a growth project environment.
  • Strong experience in the biotechnology industry.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in German or French is advantageous.
