Position: Software Testing Engineer

Our client, a leading medical technology company headquartered in Switzerland, is at the forefront of innovation in ventilators, automated pipetting, sample management, and process sensor development. We are seeking an experienced Software Testing Engineer for a permanent position in Central Switzerland.

Main Responsibilities

  • Define Test Specifications: Develop test specifications based on requirements.
  • Test Automation: Automate tests using appropriate tools and technologies.
  • Test Execution: Conduct both automated and manual tests, thoroughly documenting results.
  • Fault Diagnosis and Reporting: Identify and document software issues.
  • Test Environment Management: Set up, commission, and utilize test equipment and environments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: Completed engineering studies (B.Sc./M.Sc., university/technical university) with in-depth knowledge in technical computer science.
  • Passion for Quality: Strong enthusiasm for software testing and quality assurance, with a keen eye for identifying defects.
  • Testing Expertise: Experience in creating and executing software tests across various levels.
  • Analytical Skills: Independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach, with strong analytical thinking.
  • Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in programming, ideally in C++ and Python.
  • Systematic Testing Knowledge: Understanding of systematic software testing practices.
  • Willingness to Learn: Open to further training in software testing.
  • Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in German and English, with a minimum proficiency level of C1 in both languages.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Test Automation Experience: Prior experience in test automation.
  • Embedded Systems: Experience in embedded systems.
  • Regulated Environment Experience: Familiarity with regulated industries such as MedTech or automotive.
  • GUI Testing Frameworks: Knowledge of GUI testing frameworks like Squish or Qt-Test.
  • Object-Oriented Programming: Experience with C++ in an embedded environment.
  • UML Knowledge: Understanding of UML in embedded systems.
  • Certification: iSTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level.
