Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is recruiting for a talented Category Manager (CAPEX) – Process Equipment to be based in Visp, Switzerland for an initial 12 months contract with high chances of extension.

Category Manager (CAPEX) – Process Equipment – 7025

The Category Manager will lead the development and execution of category strategies for process equipment within CAPEX projects, ensuring alignment between business needs, engineering requirements, and supply market capabilities. Drive cost competitiveness, supply security, and innovation in a pharmaceutical environment. 

Main Responsibilities:

• Define and deploy category strategy for process equipment 
• Lead sourcing and tendering (RFx, supplier selection) 
• Drive commercial negotiations and contracting 
• Partner with Engineering and Project Teams for early involvement 
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance 
• Drive cost optimization and value engineering 
• Manage supply risks and ensure continuity 
• Ensure compliance with GMP and technical standards 
• Translate category strategy into project execution 
• Monitor supplier performance and continuous improvement 

Qualifications and Experience:

·      Relevant Swiss working/residency permit and/or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required

·      Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent. Technical background preferred.

·      10–15 years experience in Procurement / Category Management

·      Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated industry

·      Strong experience in process equipment sourcing

·      Proven negotiation and supplier strategy track record

·      Experience in large CAPEX projects

·      Strong understanding of engineering and project lifecycle

·      Fluent English with minimum B2 level in German
