Our client is a leading global player in the Pharmaceutical industry with global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. They are undergoing a transformation with respect to culture and outside perception. The organisation focuses on novel therapies in Oncology and Ophthalmology and is also currently developing a world-leading pipeline in Neuroscience and Dermatology with one of the strongest pipelines of Phase II/III studies in the world.
We are currently looking for a:
Scientist, Single-Cell and Spatial Omics
6-month contract, Basel
Main Tasks:
– Develop, evaluate, and implement NGS methods and protocols, with emphasis on single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial or multi-omics applications
– Independently perform experiments, analyze data, and write high-quality reports
– Ensure the generation of FAIR-compliant data through scientific rigor
– Interpret complex sequencing datasets together with wet lab and bioinformatics teams and provide actionable insights to project teams
– Present protocols and results to internal stakeholders
Your Profile:
– Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
– Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or a related discipline
– 1 to 2 years of industry experience in genomics, in situ hybridization, imaging and spatial techniques
– Demonstrable hands-on experience with NGS workflows and strong molecular biology skills, including nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR and NGS library preparation
– Experience with single-cell and spatial transcriptomics platforms is a plus
– Experience with challenging clinical sample types such as FFPE tissue, primary tumor cells and low-input samples
– Experience and enthusiasm for developing and refining experimental methods, working independently and communicating findings effectively
– Strong collaboration skills within and across matrix teams
– Fluent English
