Materials Requirements Planner – 7151

 

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a Materials Requirements Planner, for a project until April 2027 with potential extension or internalization. The role is a contract opportunity required to work from Visp in Switzerland.

 

The Materials Requirements Planner is responsible for proactively maintaining and continuously improving the supply of Customer Supplier Materials. Perform all duties to ensure the Customer Supplier Materials Requirements Plans are completed, to ensure the timely availability of materials, and communication to all relevant stakeholders to drive short term execution of Plans.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties to ensure the Materials Requirements Plans are completed to ensure the timely availability of materials to support the product Supply Plan
  • Responsible to liaise with all key functions to ensure timely updates to material plans considering changes to plans or material availability issues
  • Execution of key tasks to support inventory plans and optimization initiatives
  • Perform all routine tasks to convert planned orders into material plans (Purchase Requisition, BANF) including the creation and management of material planned requirements
  • Liaison with Material Project Leads (MPLs) to ensure all material plans are up to date and responsive to changes in material requirements
  • Creation and maintenance of detailed material planning parameters in Planning systems
  • Conversion of the material requirements plan (purchase requisitions) into Purchase Orders
  • Expediting material availability through liaison with procurement and teams involved with inbound material processing
  • Creation and management of material related KPIs and measures to ensure accurate understanding of material availability
  • Execution of key material availability, mobilization or write actions to support optimal management of inventory while reducing scrap/waste (SMOG)
  • Liase with key stakeholders (MPLs, Material Analysts) to develop safety stock and inventory plans to meet production plans
  • Close cooperation with Operational Buyers for supplier related questions
  • Track, report and facilitate on-time material availability (drive escalations) including testing and accountability with material releases for production

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in SCM, Procurement or any relevant field
  • Min. of 5 years’ experience as a Material Requirement Planner
  • Planning & Purchasing: Production Scheduling, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Purchase Order (PO) Management, Supplier Expediting, Shortage Resolution, Work Order Execution, Bill of Materials (BOM) Management, New Product Introductions (NPI). 
  • ERP & Inventory Systems: JD Edwards, SAP (MM, WM, IBP), Advanced Inventory Control (ABC, EOQ, Reorder Point, Safety Stock, Aging Inventory Analysis).
  • Supplier & Operational Management: Approved Supplier Collaboration, Supplier Scorecards, Vendor Performance Tracking, On-Time Delivery (OTD), Receiving/GRN & ASN Tracking, Contract Compliance.
  • Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query), Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (DMAIC), Value Stream Mapping, cGMP Compliance.
