USP Biotechnologist Manager
Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a USP Biotechnologist Manager for a contract position till end of March 2027 (with option for extension) in Valais area, Switzerland.
In this role, you will support Production Leaders, Supervisors, and Specialists in daily operations and people-related activities. This includes supporting employee development, training, onboarding, coaching initiatives, and overall team effectiveness.
You will facilitate effective information exchange between management and the team through regular communication, coordination of team meetings, and timely escalation of production-related issues when appropriate.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of production campaigns within the manufacturing unit, contributing to the achievement of safety, quality, and delivery objectives while assisting management and operational teams in day-to-day activities.
- Act as a key point of contact for production-related issues, supporting investigations, escalation processes, and resolution efforts in collaboration with Manufacturing, MSAT, and other cross-functional teams. Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
- Assist in maintaining the technical readiness and availability of manufacturing suites and equipment by supporting compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the review and implementation of technical change requests within the manufacturing unit, ensuring alignment with operational needs and established procedures.
- Support innovation and continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes, operational efficiency, and overall plant performance.
- Promote technical excellence and process standardization by supporting the implementation of best practices and harmonized manufacturing approaches across the production plant.
- Participate in risk assessments, workplace inspections, and compliance activities, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
- Broad biotechnology expertise and/or knowledge of biotechnical engineering.
- Strong GMP knowledge.
- Proficient in English.
- Understanding of business and financial processes.
- Strong background in mammalian cell culture.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels and functions of the organization.
- Strong team-oriented mindset.
- Structured, focused, and well-organized working style.
- Open-minded and receptive to new ideas and suggestions.
