About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Flow Cytometry Specialist to join our client’s headquarters in Basel. This is a 12-month full-time onsite contract position in a dynamic team of 7 experts, offering a unique opportunity to support cutting-edge drug discovery efforts.
In this role, you will act as a core contributor in delivering robust and innovative flow cytometry solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with scientists across therapeutic areas and contribute to both project delivery and the continuous development of the platform.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on daily lab operations including routine quality control (QC), instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and high-quality data.
- Train and support users on flow cytometry instrumentation (Attune NxT, BD Fortessa/Symphony A5, Cytoflex LX, Cytek Aurora) and cell sorters (BD FACSAria Fusion, Cytek Aurora CS).
- Provide expert consultation for experimental design, sample preparation, and data analysis.
- Lead complex experiments and drive innovation in flow cytometry applications aligned with research goals.
- Support and deliver training courses on instrument operation, theory, and data analysis.
- Engage with emerging technologies and continuously expand technical knowledge through scientific literature.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a flow cytometry core facility or advanced research environment.
- Deep understanding of flow cytometry theory and instrumentation, including troubleshooting, quality control, and maintenance.
- Extensive experience in flow cytometry experimental design, and proficiency in software such as FlowJo, OMIQ, or similar.
- Hands-on expertise in fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) for diverse biological applications.
- Strong customer orientation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, research-focused environment.
- Excellent English communication skills and a collaborative, inclusive team mindset.
Nice to Have
- PhD in a relevant life science field with 5+ years of experience in advanced flow cytometry techniques and applications.
