Process Engineer Black Utilities

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a Process Engineer Black Utilties for a 12-month-contract (with high possibility for extension) based in the Valais area, Switzerland.

As a Process and Project Engineer Black Utilities you will support the client’s Global Engineering Services Team during planning, construction and start-up of units and plants in the Infrastructure sector.

Your tasks will include developing and verifying ideas and requests, generating feasibility and conceptual studies, considering regulatory requirements and internal guidelines together with internal and external projects partners, and to develop these until their internal approval for execution. After the internal approval your focus will be to support the project execution until its successful start-up. As an engineer you will perform the required calculations, generate required documents and specifications, together with internal and external partners until start-up and as built documentation is completed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Verification of ideas and requests, feasibility and conceptual studies for projects until the internal approval for execution together with the internal and external team members (Electrical-, Measurement- and Controls Engineering, Civil Engineering, HVAC-Engineering, 3D-Planning and Field Engineering/Construction Management, Fire protection, General Planners, and other Subject Matter Experts).
  • Plant Design, and execution of projects, together with and coordinating of internal and external engineering partners until and including successful plant start-up.
  • Support/accompaniment of 3D coordination, resolution of collisions, adjustments, etc.
  • Responsibility for commissioning and acceptance of the systems and participation in integral tests with general designer/architect, internal engineering disciplines, piping contractors, etc. incl. collection/control/handover of the as-built technical documentation to the end user and handover of the systems to the future owner and operator.
  • Additional tasks as required by the Global Engineering Team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
  • Engineer (Bachelor / Master) in Process or Chemical Engineering
  • German fluent (B2-Level)
  • Certificates for water-based fire protection systems per VKF is a plus
  • Project engineering and/or operations experience in Chemical-, Pharma industry is appreciated
  • Experience in project engineering and planning/construction/start-up of Chemical-, Pharma or Biopharma industry is needed
  • Experience with fire protection systems norms and standards per VKF/SES is a plus
