Our client, an innovative Swiss bio-pharmaceutical company, is seeking an Senior Scientific Associate ADQC for a 12-month contract in the Basel area.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop, assess, optimize, and apply analytical methods utilizing specified techniques, including conducting release, retest, stability studies, transfer, and (pre-) validation analyses.
  • Write, review, and document analytical method protocols, reports, Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), particularly for development purposes.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of analytical equipment, and ensure availability of adequate lab materials.
  • Plan, execute, and report experiments for method development, assessment, optimization, application, and forced degradation studies.
  • Participate in intra- and inter-departmental meetings, and train laboratory personnel.
  • Interpret and document analytical data, including results, and independently review scientific work related to project activities.
  • Document all analytical activities thoroughly, including compiling testing records, and ensure cleanliness of the laboratory and workspace.



Qualifications and Experience:

  • Apprenticeship-, College-, or university-degree or equivalent education in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or chemical engineering.
  • Ideal education and work experience: Apprenticeship plus 6-10 years, BSc plus 4-8 years, or MSc plus 3-5 years.
  • Good knowledge of analytical chemistry with advanced proficiency in sample preparation and analytical instrumentation techniques, especially in chromatography, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy. Proficiency in troubleshooting analytical instrumentation.
  • High flexibility, advanced communication, time-management, and teamwork skills, with basic knowledge of QC or GMP.
