Supply Chain Expert

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a Supply Chain Expert for a 12-month contract (with possibility for extension) based in Valais area, Switzerland.

The Supply Chain Expert is accountable/responsible to :

  • provide help to site contributing/designing solutions and improvements at the site level while ensuring process/ improvements are standardized and implemented across all business units
  • drive the sustainability of the processes in SAP within the organization, train end users and SMEs, and ensure the appropriate level of documentation (SOPs, Work Instructions) are in place and embedded into the Quality System.
  • The client needs a SAP expert in the End to End value chain (plan, procure, produce, store, deliver, invoice, including master data management, warehousing, and inventory management).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits a sophisticated understanding of Biologics organization and processes to drive critical success factors needed to differentiate and improve the operations in order to make the client more competitive.
  • Communicates effectively to all stakeholders and helps them make sense of complexity and uncertainty.
  • Identifies when operational levels interests may not align and acts as a key communication link between operational layers and line manager seeking at effective solutions to resolve or escalate.
  • Leads or participates to multiple complex initiatives simultaneously to successful conclusion
  • Shows decision-making flexibility in deploying the projects/initiatives while being mindful of the implications on the broader organization.
  • Manages ambiguity through effective communication, removes barriers and overcomes resistance skilfully.
  • Challenges others to work differently when the business environment requires it.
  • Acts as a change leader by visibly demonstrating public commitment to change, and aligning and helping others embrace change.

  • Interface with MES (Syncade)
  • Detail Scheduling tool (OMP)
  • Sub-processes and data
  • Contribute to the design and deployment of all sub-processes having an impact on :
    • inventory management and material flow from procurement to storage of finish good (transactional data)
    • All master data (Material Master and Production Master Data) required in an integrated system environment
  • Project Management
    • Drive own projects and contribute as team member to others
    • Test systems and processes supported by master data
    • Develop supporting documentation (training, SOP/WI) and publish in the Document Management System
    • Roll-out and train the end users

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management and/or Business Management
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Certification in Value Chain Management required; in CPIM or equivalent, Project Management and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in:
    • Highly regulated industry, preferred Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry
    • Production Master Data
    • Supply Chain/Operations in a manufacturing site
    • SAP ECC and S/4 HANA
    • SAP Modules (WM/eWM, MM, PP, SD, QM)
    • MES (Syncade)
  • Ability to utilize Business Intelligence systems to extract data and generate reports
  • Competent using MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint as well as ERP and Supply Chain systems
